Would you believe my Harley mostly kept up with a Daytona and Dorsoduro? Me either, but it did. Killed the Italian on the straights though I could never stay right on the heels of the plucky Britt. But they never could lose me altogether.
No SR20 because I suck. ~150 miles through twisty canyon roads along a river. Absolutely beautiful. When I could look that is. We weren’t exactly moving slowly. And another ~60 miles on a freeway.
The XR650 couldn’t make it today, but the R3 and FZ came along, kind of, they had a hard time keeping up mostly due to skill and experience level. Don’t worry though, we never got so far ahead that they were left alone, we had planned stopping points every so often to stay together.
Oh, and the aprilia went down at one point. He’s totally fine (he’s very experienced and knows how to fall) and the bike is still fine to ride albeit a little scraped up with a broken right peg and rear brake lever. Just a reminder, ride within your abilities, check your tires (his were too worn for how hard he was pushing it through corners) often, and ATGATT!

Just made me want a sport bike! Not that I want to get rid of my fashion accessory bar hopper Harley...

I think YOU kept up with a Dorsoduro and a Daytona IN SPITE of your bike, not because of it.
Kudos though, it is 100% not an easy feat.

Just goes to show that it’s just as much rider as machine. You around Portland area (your interest in the Triumph made me think you might be)? Let me know if your looking for an extra rider anytime. The SV and DR-Z love twisties :)

Thanks. That’d a good idea, I might look into that. I’ve only had it for maybe two months so I haven’t really looked into doing much to it yet.

Lol yeah, and they clearly weren’t riding as hard as I was. Well, except when the ape went down.

Yeah. We totally should meet up and go for a ride sometime. I would suggest tomorrow but I think the wife would kill me since I was out longer today than planned. We rode down 224 to Detroit lake then back to Salem and up i5. Maybe next weekend?

I’m down, doing a hill climb at Maryhill loop Saturday, but I’ve got Sunday totally open. My usual stomping ground is out in the Tillamook forest around Vernonia but I’m always down to discover some new roads.

Cool. I’m not terribly familiar with back roads, but I’m down for whatever as long as there are gas stops every 70-80 miles. My gas tank and range are comically small. Roughly where are you located?

Beaverton, I know lots of routes with gas (great food too) if interested we can meet somewhere along 26 around lunchtime and I’ll show you one of my favorite roads.

I’m excited for you! It would be really awesome if it was ready to ride by next Sunday but I know that probably isn’t realistic.

Depends, if it really is just a carb issue, I can probably have it done. I think I saw a fork seal leaking a bit though and if that’s the case it’ll probably be a couple weeks before it’s fully ready. Brakes felt pretty spongy too, but definitely felt more like air in the lines than a master with a compromised seal.

None of that is really too bad at all. For that price I was expecting worse to be honest.

Oh I’m sure there will be more, given the price my criteria was
1. Does it exist
2. Does it have a title
So I didn’t exactly give it a thorough going over, that comes later in my garage.

I think the only other requirement I would have added for that price would have been:
3. Does it still have at least 75% of its parts, even if they’re not installed?
